Loving from a Distance
Here Rachael explores themes of healing and when distancing yourself from others is healthy.
I drew inspiration from this image earlier this week.

I always say have someone at a distance where you can love them from. And sometimes the long view is the place where you can get that perspective from. Having healthy boundaries does not mean having everyone at the same distance. It means learning that some people deserve to be in your inner circle and some deserve to be in outer space!
If someone is causing you stress or to feel disempowered, it creates toxicity within you. Notice how you feel when you have no contact with that person compared to when you do?
This person triggers within you something which will need examining; something around which you may wish to place coping strategies or something which you may wish to heal.
Many of my clients come to me as they find someone in their life disabling. And many of them find that in order to heal and move forward they need to distance themselves from that person as they work through their feelings and their personal empowerment around the themes that this person brings up for them.
And the end result? It’s different for everyone.

Some people can have that person back in their life in larger doses and still feel whole. Others no longer feel the need to be around that person at all and they are good and whole with that.
Some people say what they need to that person. Others don’t.
And that may change.
But the over running theme is that for everyone of them they feel better, more empowered, wholer, happier. Everyone’s version of that is different.
Relationships ebb and flow throughout our life. Looking to see how they serve us to serve ourselves and knowing when it’s time to let that person and yourself into new adventures, without stifling it and holding in too long, is key!
Love as always
