The New Wave of Spiritual Teachers and How it Applies to Us All – plus channelling from John the Baptist (3 min read)

Here Rachael explores our self imposed roles as earthly, but spiritual, teachers and guides. With an inspirational channelled message from one of the Earth’s greatest masters and teacher, John the Baptistand guidance from the beautiful Usui; two masters who were not the loudest, but are certainly among the brightest stars.

Today I was thinking about the pressure we put on ourselves as teachers or community leaders.

Which, even though I cringe slightly at the title, I am.

Self Imposed Titles and Roles

In organising healing groups, Spiritual philosophy groups and in the New Year, a development group, I’m putting myself in a position of responsibility.

As a teacher I have a responsibility towards those I teach.

We all view our roles in different ways and all fulfil that responsibility in different ways.

What I don’t have is the responsibility for other people’s journeys. I’m there to guide, offer wisdom and friendship depending on the circumstances. But I can’t, nor should I want to, live others lessons for them or force them down a certain route I think is right for them.

Changing attitude of teachers; guides and mentors, not rule givers.

And for me I think this is endemic of the way teaching and passing out wisdom is changing across society. Gone are the days of presuming the person sat in front of you is inferior to you. Gone are the days when you tell people how they should learn. And if they don’t learn the same as you they’re doing it wrong. You don’t question your teacher.

I’m sure we can all agree that’s a thankful transition!

And so as a new set of teachers and community guides step forward in the Spiritual industry, I find myself wanting to take forward some but not all of what I’ve been taught. As it should be.

But with energetic work, taking on some and dropping some other isn’t always as simple. Either because of the teachers dynamic in not letting go of the students journey or because of the students lack of wanting to let go of their teacher and stepping out alone. Or a bit of both in some cases!!

A visit from a Master

As I thought about this today I had a visit from both Usui and John the Baptist.

I was shown I was treading my own path and always had been. Yes I couldn’t see where I was going with it as a result, and often felt like I was teetering on the edge. So yes it was hard. But I was capable of it. I always aimed and channelled from a high place, but my faith allowed me to walk forward, and in doing so show others the way. So I just needed to carry on as I am.

I had a moment where it all was so obvious and what was I honestly worrying about? And I was humbled by what I’d been shown.

Usui took away with him energetic lineage that no longer served me. That I didn’t need to bear the burden of any longer. Old teachings that no longer served. Old styles of Mastery and Student dynamic that was no longer the way. And I felt the burden release.

John then took me on a very clear vision journey. It was both startling and beautiful.

I found us stood in the deserts that he knew so well. Surrounded by the amber and ochre sandstone. Carved into many weird and wonderful shapes. Truly beautiful.

John The Baptist In The Desert by Ellen Paull

John pointed to where a river had run through the base once. It no longer flowed. These small ravines had once proved to be the life blood of the area. But the water stopped flowing as it was rerouted elsewhere. As the landscape changed, the water fed other areas and left this dry and barren. He showed me this was the same as teaching.

Old lessons were created in a different time; a different space. Life had changed. So the teaching moved into other areas, was taught using other methods. This area, this teaching we were stood in, was not as important to the landscape as it once was.

They still left their mark. Still noticeable. And were very, very beautiful. But they were subsidiaries which had nothing to feed anymore. He picked up the cracked soil in his hand and crumbled it up. Here it was dead and dry. The only voices here was the ones of ghosts on the wind and the only feet that walked here, walked here alone. To reminisce. To remember. To recognise. To wonder at the beauty of it.

And so should I. I should look at where we were. Look at what was important and how we moved through the lessons at that time. But this place was dead. And this was no place to stay for long he said brushing the earth from his hands. Otherwise I would whither up and die with it. As would my teaching.

He placed his large sturdy hand behind my back and gently guided me back to the slope. He pointed to the horizon.

We should always be looking towards the horizon and unknown gems shimmering in the mirage further down the road.

Reading this back he speaks of not just the teachings I have received, but of all teaching. Of taking the word of Jesus, or any other teacher from a bygone age, and applying it directly to the current time space. And in steps John again.

“These teachings have served. They have done the work they came to do and as a beautiful result, the world had moved on. As a result of it. Not in spite of it. (he shows me how the energy flows from their work, created a new reality, and we are living in the reality which he had helped to create).

It is indeed mindless and senseless to look back to old lessons and hold on to them. Maybe even infuriating at times (he says with a wry smile). We did what we came to do. Now we pass the torch to you. Take it and move forward. There is so much to see and learn. Why hold onto the past when the future has so much potential? You hold so much in your hand and yet you would rather throw that to one side to play in the dirt? Yes, the wisdom may not be clear, but it is sparkly and shiny. And it’s sat right there. Play with that instead my loved ones.”

We are our own teachers; we are the new breed of Ascended Masters taking our place in the world. Let’s hold hands and take the planet forward together.

And I will leave you with those words.

Love as always
