Throw away your troubles; my personal reflection plus a channelled exercise to help you with your own. (4 min read)
Rachael’s own personal experience with feeling under it, a healing gift from a friends guide, passed onto you!
What I’ve been Personally working through
Over the last 6 months I’ve had a whole host of things going on around me, some affecting me directly. We all go through these stages; one thing after another. And individually these things are fine; you’d cope with them easily. But one after the other; it’s a different story.
My friend calls it’s the ‘mediums curse’; because you help other people through this stuff, you should know how to cope with it better than others. But everyone is human and goes through the same emotions.

My biggest lessons at the moment are loving myself (including putting my needs on the actual list, and actually moving them up, rather than them not going up at all), and just Being.
Just Being. Not worrying, not taking responsibility for others actions in any way (ranging from guilt to continued, repeated, wasted help), going with the flow, knowing that everything will just work out, not worrying about the detail unless it’s necessary. Acceptance. Of situations you can’t change and of people being who they are and being at the stage of the journey they are at.
The first part has been an ongoing journey over the last year; just when I think I’ve peeled off the final layer, there’s another. And I spotted those issues pretty much straight away and worked through them. Not saying it was easy, but reoccurring issues ensured it was shouting at me. And being the kind of gal that likes to rip the sticking plaster (band-aid for you over-the-pond’ers) so I just dug deep and dealt with it. Meaning it has come together over the last couple of weeks. With me actually telling people directly how they have affected me and the impact of their actions on me. How crazy ey?! Not trying to talk through it with higher lessons or similar stories of others effecting me and hoping they’d see themselves reflected in that. Still got to maintain the balance of not throwing everything back at everyone obviously, but I generally reflect before acting so I’m hoping that’s in my favour. Whether others choose to take responsibility for that or throw it back at me is up to them. But that leads me nicely onto the next part.
Just Being. How Life Changes Throw the Whole Ball GAme
Talk to me 5 years ago and I would have told you I had that part all sown up. Just give yourself over to the process of life. Trust in yourself and your gut and it’ll all be good.
And that’s right and true.
But throw two little humans that I somehow managed to grow, into the equation?! That’s a different story.
So my ‘taking responsibility for others’ over-hang kicked in, totally understandably, essentially and likely from a biological point of view. It kicked in big time. What’s in the best interest of the kids? I’m very aware of the fact that I desperately chose to bring them into this life; it’s immoral to do a half arsed job.
That feeling has increased as my son has reached school age. What school is best for him? Is this the right area to live in? Should I home school him? How will he get on at school? And then all the other stuff that goes around that so family dynamics, activities, my home/work life balance etc etc.
So the sort of worries we all have.
But I’d done very well in not letting worry effect me. And now I had all this other rubbish going on. So, in a very human way, I have not been coping very well.
I’ve been doing very traditional self healing energetically and trying to get to the root of why I feel the need to take responsibility for everyone.
But while I’ve been working through this, everything else had been building up.
And let’s just say I needed a reminder of who I was, of everything I was in terms of me and my strength and in terms of all of my healing talents.
Being Led to Let Go
So I had a truly beautiful day yesterday teaching a Reiki 1 workshop. I loved it and it reminded me of all the things I take joy in. A friends guide rocked up in a very Ethereal way during her healing. Which is always very cool.
And in a very simple way he did just that; reminded me of who I was.
Having a feeling we’ve crossed paths before in another time and place, he showed up later. So thanks to that friend for having such an awesome guide and for being a great enough friend to, even subconsciously, allow him to toddle off for a bit.

So he handed me a pile of pebbles. ‘What am I supposed to do with these?’. He gives me that look which says I’m not here to teach you the basics.
OK, I say to myself, feeling the weight of them in my hand. OK.
So I pick up one, assign one of my worries to it, and hand it over. He nonchalantly chucks it over his shoulder and waggles his hand for the next one.
And I continue and continue. And as I go through all my worries, I find the pebbles got smaller and turned into gravel. The gravel got smaller and turned into grit. As I got through all the nitty gritty; right down to the little things. Everything. Everything got chucked over his shoulder bar two stones.
One; my health. That’s very much in my control and something I can deal with. Another smaller pebble; external to me but something I can help with and it’s in the highest interest to do so.
Two small stones. This is manageable. This I know I can cope with, in comparison to the perfect number of stones I’d been landed with earlier.
Then he picked one up and playfully chucked it at my head.
OK. Point made. I’ve been a numbskull.
A simple meditation or hypnotherapy exercise which will help manage my stress until I get myself through all this. Something which I do regularly for others and is well within my repertoire.
And he also reminded me of something more; the fact that I could connect with spirits in a very basic level. Not hearing just feeling, understanding and knowing. The stress of the last few months taking its toll on the non-essentials; in the main my abilities.
Another strong reminder on the self healing journey to treat myself like any other person working their way through life. To allow myself to understand the bigger picture at my own pace. In the meantime treating myself gently, and not expecting more of myself because I ‘should know better’. I am a human after all.

I also couldn’t miss the synchronicity. I often get clients to put illness or emotional damage into a stone. An aboriginal technique actually. Then I give it to them to throw away. And when they do shout, swear and scream out every emotion and thought they have attached to that.
Plus he has given me another great hypnosis script. 🙂
Gifted onto you!
Please use this as a visualisation yourself. If you are used to meditation or journeying please ground, protect and open yourself as you would normally and ask a guide, angel or loved one in spirit to help you if you’d like.
Additionally I have a video on how to ground, protect and open on my Facebook page. Please click here if you’d like to look at it.
Or if are more hands on, grab yourself a big pile of pebbles and go out somewhere in nature, or head down to a stoney beach. And start throwing your troubles away. If you feel the need to express the emotion attached to that verbally, then do it!
Would love to hear if this resonates with you, or if you’d like to share if you’ve used it and found it helpful.
Love as always
