We are each a Sacred River. A Gift from a Guide (3 min read)
A beautiful channelled message from a guide and a simple lesson on how easy self love can truly be
I have been doing some wonderful workshops over the last month, teaching Reiki, in the ever evolving way that I do it.
I always have a plethora of guides and loved ones coming in with those learning on the day, as well as my own and the person receiving treatments.
This weekend I had a theme from the Indian Subcontinent which was such a beautiful energy (Spirit always has a way of bringing certain people together) and lots of chanting ringing in my ears at different times (not coming from the earthly guests I may add!).
One of my students guides gave me the following: I cannot take any credit for it being my guide or even my philosophy or words, they do not belong to me. However he is bugging me into writing them and putting it out there, so here there are!
We are each, a sacred river. We flow, ebb and move with energy, just as water moves, flows and ebbs. We are each the Ganges, the Eurphrates and the Tigris.
We must be sure to gently place the most wonderful offerings into ourselves, and those rivers. Adorn yourself with beautiful flowers, pray and worship at your heart and kiss your gently rippled, imperfect, surface.
We reflect the Moonlight and the Sun, all the colours of the Rainbows and all of Life.
We nourish ourselves and those around us.
You cannot be too kind to yourself, too loving, too gentle.
Hold yourself in your tears, in your sadness, in your pain, in your anger, in your laughter and your joy. Embrace all that you are, all that you were and all that you will be, knowing that you are exactly as you are meant to be.
Trickling down from mountains, rushing over waterfalls, pooling in deep dark caverns, falling from the sky, crashing with the waves; until all of it comes together in one great, perfect whole.
Shanti

Like I say I cannot take credit for this in the slightest. But I just love it!
I was given an image of myself gently placing a pink lotus flower into the river that was my soul, and as I tripped over my surface like a fairy dancing across the water, the ripples spread out further than I could see.

What he was focusing on was those of us that put ourselves last, or feel we don’t matter, don’t need or don’t deserve our own focus, we don’t just have an impact on us. The ripples are far reaching. We will in fact be loving and helping those around us, by doing the same for ourselves.
He wanted to focus on positivity and felt no need to illustrate the point further by discussing what damage we do to ourselves, and the sacred rivers for that matter.
As I went to search online for Euphrates (in the back of my mind I knew it was something, but needed to check it wasn’t a mountain range in S America!), I came across an article, which I have posted below, about the pollution being done to the Ganges. It was an old article, but nevertheless, made me think. The inference was or is to be gentle to us and Mother Nature, and these great, sacred waterways. They are both entwined. If we do not love the planet, how can we ever love ourselves??
Would love your thought and feedback on this.
Love as always
